Jewelry designer Alexis Bittar
, a favorite of Michele Obama
, invited ElleDecor
.com inside his Brooklyn Heights apartment
for a tour of the space and the background on his enviable antique collection.
With a pair of American history-professor parents who dabbled in antique dealing on the side, Bittar has amassed quite the collection of art and accessories with deep rooted pasts. "I fell in love with the romance of the history in an object and how it travels through time," the style setter shared.
Though a designer by talent and trade, Bittar takes a more leisurely, unplanned approached to his home's décor. "I am really an emotional consumer," he shared with the site. "I buy things first and then I make them work."
