With all of the amazing celebrity style out there, it’s hard to narrow down our favorite famous spaces. Instead of selecting just one home, we decided to create our very own dream house. Come take a tour of what may be the most amazing celebrity retreat ever, if only it were real.
We love the classic look of the façade of model Molly Sims’s home. High-gloss paint finishes and a simple symmetric arrangement of lanterns and planters feel grown-up and sophisticated. Creating a welcoming first impression, this exterior sends just the right message.
A grand exterior should lead to an equally grand foyer, and musician Lenny Kravitz’s Paris home fits the bill. The rocker and designer used a variety of textures to infuse interest into his luxurious, monochromatic space. Modern furniture beautifully contrasts with polished marble floors and classic crystal sconces to create the perfect balance of class and edge.
Moving into the living room, we’re craving a cozy, eclectic vibe and actress Lake Bell’s comfortable space makes for a beautiful retreat. Bell credits her mother’s interior design background for helping her capture what she describes as an “eclectic cohesive” aesthetic.
With comfort in mind, we’re looking for a relaxing environment for the hub of this home, and the open-plan kitchen in star couple Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi’s California ranch is a great complement to our layered living room. Exposed beams, a seating area, and a fireplace make for a cozy setting for family meals and entertaining.
Modern armchairs and a crystal light fixture that cast a flattering glow are essential to a dining room that encourages family and friends to linger. The rustic finishes of Keri Russell’s dining room work beautifully with her soft floor-to-ceiling drapery, and the fireplace is just begging to be lit during a festive dinner party.
Craving a relaxing retreat, we’re drawn to Ivanka Trump’s master bedroom. A soft, furry blanket is perfect for curling up, while the light color palette and plush carpeting create a serene environment. Modern art adds just the right amount of edge, and a pair of stools at the foot of the bed offer a place to perch, something all master bedrooms should have.
A luxurious home should also have a luxurious bathroom, and this spacious room in designers Kate and Andy Spade’s New York home fits the bill. A clawfoot tub, spacious shower, area rugs, and upholstered seating make this room a place where one wants to unwind.
Not an afterthought in a dream home like this, the closet should be large, well-lit, and organized, and reality star Whitney Port’s dressing room is just the ticket. Fun wallpaper, custom shelving, and ample storage make this enviable space fit for any fashion-forward homeowner.
Child-friendly with a hefty dose of style, we love the girl’s room in actress Reese Witherspoon’s former Ojai, CA home. A cozy nook is the perfect place for budding readers to curl up with a good book, while a center table is poised for game play. A mix of patterns in a similar color palette injects sophistication into what could have been an overly juvenile design.
Built-in seating, a large sunbed, and an inviting mix of throw pillows surround an open-air fire pit on the patio of actor George Clooney’s Mexican retreat. We’re envious of his inviting arrangement which just begs to host margaritas with friends.
Is it this large infinity edge pool we’re after or the unparalleled ocean views? Regardless, the Malibu spread of Real Housewives star Yolanda Foster and her composer husband David Foster is the ultimate backyard to round out our celebrity dream home. A mix of grass and stone add visual interest, while ample lounging and seating ensure this house is the place to be every summer.
