Pantone Announces Its Color of the Year 2014

Find out what popular hue the color authority is forecasting for next year.

COY2014 Color authority Pantone has just announced its highly anticipated color of the year for 2014: PANTONE  18-3224 Radiant Orchid. Featuring undertones of fuchsia, purple, and pink, the plum-like shade "intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination," says the color institute's executive director, Leatrice Eiseman. As she describes it, the color is "a captivating, magical, enigmatic purple." We expect to see the hue popping up in interior spaces in paint, accent pieces, and accessories. An adaptable and subtle shade, it complements olive and deep hunter greens (such as Pantone's color of 2013, Emerald Green) and pairs well with bright accents of turquoise, teal, and light yellow, as well as neutrals, of course. Do you have any Radiant Orchid hues in your home? Will you adopting this hue next year? Source: Pantone
